2008 Writer's Track
Welcome to the 7th year of DucKon Writer's Track. This is a weekend long track of workshops
and panels addressing some of the most pertinent questions new writers ask. While aimed at the unpublished
science fiction/fantasy writer, this weekend will be extremely informational for any author, in any genre.
GOH Participation in the Writer's Track:
- Elizabeth Bear will hold a Q&A Session
- Jeff and Maya Bohnhoff have agreed to work with us on Parody Lyric
Writing and Dialogue
- Todd and Terri Stone are returning this year. Todd's Novelist Boot Camp,
which is extremely good, will include a module on Macro- and Micro-Setting. Terri's advice to writers
dealing with the IRS is essential!
- Richard Chwedyk will present a 3 part Short Story Workshop: Brainstorming,
Story Construction, Revision. Unfortunately, while there are no limitations on the overall number of
participants, we must limit participation in the Saturday and Sunday sessions to
those who show up for the Friday night session. It will begin at 6:30 Fannish Standard Time.
- Roland J. Green and Frieda Murray have agreed to present a Character
Workshop. Signups for the Character Workshop are closed. Writers may attend as
observers but not as participants.
- Jodi Lynn Nye has agreed to reprise her Narrative Hook Workshop again this
year. Be sure to sign up! As usual, participation is limited to 10 because of the
interactive nature of the workshop. To sign up for the workshop, use the
