Mail In art Deadline: June 20, 2013
Please send email to artshow@duckon.org when you mail your artwork and how many boxes so we know what to expect.
As you’re preparing your work, please put a small ID label on it, listing your name and the name of the piece. That way we hope to avoid some of the confusion that comes from similar titles.
Please plan for your art to arrive at that address on or before June 20, 2013. If it arrives after that date, we’ll do our best to get it to the show, but we can’t make any guarantees. Please include your hanging fees and return postage for any art that might need to be returned to you. The only “Reserved” hanging space is for our Artist Guest of Honor. Mailed-in art is placed in the best space available when it is unpacked which is usually before most artists arrive.
Charity Auction
Many thanks to those of you who have been kind enough to donate items for our Charity Auction. We deeply appreciate your generosity and your assistance in supporting our Golden Duck awards for Excellence in Children’s Science Fiction literature.
Young Artists (age 12 and under)
The DucKon staff members are extremely proud of our young artists. The same art show rules apply to them, but they won’t be charged a hanging fee or a commission fee. We also encourage them to make friends with our other artists and take the opportunity to learn all they can from them. And also to check out the panels on art technique held in the Art Show room and in the Programming area.
Artist’s Challenge
If you wish to participate in this year’s Artist’s Challenge, the work you submit must incorporate:
- This year’s theme: Fantasies of the Future
- A Winged Vertebrate
- Technology (organic or otherwise)
- Creative License to represent something from the future
Duck After Dark Art
There will be a section partitioned off at the back of the show for our over 21 art fans.

DucKon reserves the right to make decisions about which art is compatible with our family oriented convention. Because DucKon is a non-juried show, we request that you send art that you can feel comfortable about sending.
We cannot guarantee sales, but we’ll do our best to help promote your work by providing the contact information you supply us (business cards, etc.) to any interested party.
See you, and/or your art, at the con!
